Rollover in betting is either a bonus wagering requirement or, as it almost always means in Nigeria, a staking plan where each day's return becomes the next day's stake. Abroad it is the wagering requirement you clear before a bonus becomes withdrawable. Here it usually means a rollover plan: one stake carried forward day after day at short odds, each day's return becoming the next day's stake.
How does rollover work?
Take the bonus version first, because it is what most of the pages Google shows you are actually about. A book gives you a bonus, attaches a multiple to it, and you have to stake that multiple before any of it turns into money you can take out. Five times a 5,000 bonus means 25,000 staked. Not won, staked.
The Nigerian version is a staking plan and has nothing to do with bonuses.
What is a betting rollover plan and how does it work?
You start with a figure you can lose, you back one selection near 2.00, and if it lands you put the entire return on the next day. That is it. The arithmetic is the attraction: 10,000 doubled five days running is 320,000, because you are multiplying rather than adding.
The same arithmetic runs the other way and this is the part people skip. One loss anywhere in that chain takes the balance to zero, and the day it happens does not matter. Lose on day five and you have lost the original 10,000 plus everything the first four days earned.
What is rollover in SportyBet?
Both meanings show up in the app. The bonus conditions on a promotion are a rollover requirement. What the betting groups call a ten-day rollover is the staking plan, and the app has no feature for it at all.
Nobody is stopping you. You just do it manually, one slip a day, and the app treats each of those slips as an ordinary single.

Do I need a rollover calculator?
No. Your stake multiplied by the odds, then that answer multiplied by tomorrow's odds. A phone does it.
What those calculators are really selling is the picture of day ten. Work out the chance of ten straight winners at 2.00 instead and the same device gives you a more useful number.
Is a rollover strategy worth it?
I think it is the most expensive habit in Nigerian betting and I would not run one.
The pitch is that short odds are safe, so stringing them together is safe. Those are not the same claim. A 2.00 shot is roughly a coin toss in the book's own opinion, and ten coin tosses in a row is a lottery ticket you paid for in instalments. What makes it worse than an ordinary accumulator is the time. An acca loses in ninety minutes. A rollover loses on day seven, after a week of believing it was working, and by then the stake is your whole bankroll rather than the small amount you started with.
Our piece on how decimal odds become implied probability shows what a 2.00 price is really telling you.
Questions people ask
Rollover meaning, in one line?
Either the wagering requirement on a bonus, or a staking plan where each day's return becomes the next day's stake. Context decides which.
What is rollover in betting with an example?
Stake 5,000 at 2.00, get 10,000, put all 10,000 on the next day at 2.00, get 20,000. That is a two-day rollover.
What does rollover to player picks mean?
An American sportsbook term about bonus funds moving into their player-props product. Nothing to do with the Nigerian rollover plan.
What happens if one day loses?
The plan is over and the balance is nil. There is no partial rollover.
Bet only what you can afford to lose. A prediction is an opinion, not a promise. 18+.
